Thesis Blog

This blog tells the story of how Evan Wu, Sharon De La Cruz, and I researched, developed, and redesigned how unaccompanied immigrant teens access crucial information in navigating the immigration system.

Sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes! Oh my!

On my last visit to Catholic Charities we shared a sitemap, wireframes, and rough prototype of some ideas we're throwing around. We spoke with a paralegal and two migration counselors who clicked through the first prototype draft and who had a positive response towards the quizzing and proposed interactions with immigration court characters.

The migration counselors and paralegal gave valuable feedback when they looked at the sitemap. Jenny in particular reiterated how we should focus in on the court, "my rights", and "life skills" section. "Life skills" is something we recently added, which contains non-legal advice to immigrant youth (i.e. how to leave a voicemail, punctuality, etc.)
